10 meetings of one week in 1998, with 10 coaches of a high level. Since, Menotti, Zagallo and Biliardo continue to make their mark in the world of football. Zaccheroni trained AC Mila, Inter Milan and Juventus Turin. Lippi became world champion with Italy. Parreira coached South Africa in 2010. In 2011, Trappatoni took care of the national selection of the Irish team at the age of 72 and Heynckes led Bayern Munich. Wenger accomplished his 15th season at the head of Arsenal and Gourcuff
continued to make Lorient a real team in Ligue 1. The men got older and their methods did also. But their personality and their vision of football came through the decades without losing their wrinkles. It's with this discovery that I bring to you <<A
week with>> Daniel Jeandupeux, December 2011.

Daniel Jeandupeux, International footballer, coach, manager, instructor, general manager, sporting director, advisor to the president, TV consultant, sportscaster wrote 'Foot, ma vie' (football, my life), in 1975 and 'Les sorciers du foot' (the wizards of football) in 1997.

César Luis Menotti

The behaviour of Menotti integrates with coherence to his vocabulary, who banished words such as discipline, obedience and rigour, in order to profit from the subtle aspects of the game, pleasure and improvisation. The unexpected and a certain disorder of the field of vision can lead to the blooming of creativity which encourages a rigid and stereotyped organisation. The solving of a problem comes from the instinct of an individual player (<<whom reads and analyses every second of the game, whom anticipates the action he should execute>>) in an unalterable logic of the game. The flexibility of the spirit is indispensable to the inspiration based on the indestructible intimate conviction. The brilliant didactic of Cesar leans on the projected metaphor to vulgarise his idea.
<< My team is a symphonic group that I direct like the head of an orchestra. I explain my perception of the work, the idea that I have made. The musicians imagine their own.  With efficiency a concern, we look to make an agreement, we conclude a compromise that will offer us a united interpretation. All individuals dispose of a time of intervention but respect the musical composition. Each individual, following their talents, operates at an adequate moment. The first violin imposes itself in the strong
moments of the creation and the second  violins apply their services to fortify the magical moment which magnetises the public. It is such emotions that my team (and I insist on this word) wants to dedicate to its spectators.>>
